Pressure from students
Students at University of Utah are urging Rep. Matheson to use his role on the House Energy and Commerce Committee to do the right thing on climate.
Rep. Jim Matheson (UT-02) serves on the Energy & Commerce Committee and the Energy & Environment Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives. As a member of this committee, he has the tremendous opportunity to help shape legislation that will have a profound impact on the country’s energy future. In just a matter of weeks, the Committee will be taking one of the most important votes in its history, a vote on the American Clean Energy and Security Act. By voting for this bill, Rep. Matheson can help ensure that we jump-start the clean energy economy and reduce global warming pollution instead of continuing to rely on dirty fossil fuels and remaining dependent on foreign oil. This website, a project of the League of Conservation Voters, seeks to educate Rep. Matheson’s constituents about his votes and actions related to green jobs, clean energy, and global warming.
